I am Ash Mukerji, a professional planner.
I have a good feel of the people and places and how they might expect it if they happen to get there.
I am interested to explore the joy of sharing something other than the usual sand and sea scene. Reading is my hobby and I try to keep abreast of breaking destinations, mode of travel and new developments.
An extensive part of my life was spent travelling which led me to many a corner of the globe. Culturally, I have lived in India, England, Germany and the U.S.A. My home is in Canada.
When I come across something a traveller who desires to fuse with less known parts of the world and sample life from a different perspective, perhaps harbours a yearning for a broader experience of people and places unlike home, I share an avenue together. I have access to related information, not ordinarily available to people and a Questions and Answers column might be suitable. Incidentally, I am a Fellow and a Certified Travel Manager.
My partcular talent is in Group Travel Planning, Meeting Planning and in and outbound Convention Travel Management. I also service high and extraordinary travel planning requiring research and execution.
If what I have to offer of interest, please let me know and I shall try to be of service.
Ash Mukerji

Let me invite you to a Day Dream out on a journey.
Do you ever wander in or dare to let go of your imagination to a land of unknown? If someone offered you, say, $20 thousand with the only condition being you spend all of it in travel, what would come to mind? What escapade can whirl you into a discovery state of being where everything is not what you expected but, wow! So much more!
Just imagine it is now and live in the present for a while.
The joy of it all; people to encounter, experience to remember, smiles to share and you are the guest of honour. The sense of delight in sampling a rewrite of something which only happens in a flash - in a state of challenging environment unlike your everyday day.
It's up to you, there's a story to be told. It's your turn.
Let us know where and how you wish you could visit a dream, even if it is only a dream. Here are some that I found of interest. I shall give a hint of the themes and if there is any interest in any particular area, I shall expand on it on the next publication of the Muse.
If I do not know, I probably would have access to a travel source somewhere. Otherwise, I shall give you my version for what it is worth. Let us review briefly what lays in store of the offering.
A journey to Tibet, known as the Roof of the World.
Take a Hike through the forest of Honduras' Punta Sal National Park.
The Interactive Library Review, a Book Club moderated by best selling author and literary critic Robert Adams, known for his theatrical Performance Reviews of books.
Famous winemaking pioneer and lecturer, Gary Eberle hosting you on a wine testing tour about wine and regions, Paso Robles in particular.
How about a Private Jet World Tour? Take a month of and see the world in a fairly priced privately chartered jet. It is novel idea.
Leave the kids at home? An eight year old boy named Kurt assesses the magnitude of the marble wonder, Taj Mahal, towering above him and comments, "It's bigger than the things I built with Lego". Are we there yet?
Many of Muse readers have travelled to Hawaii. How many have been to Manoa Valley or Mt. Tantalus. The white sands of Kalaeloa, Yokohama Bay or the Halona Blowhole, where the great movie, "From Here to Eternity" was filmed. How about the hidden hikes, Aiea Loop Trail, Kaunala Trail or the Kamiloiki Ridge Trail?
Then we have the areas of special interest which might be for the travellers in transit. The Blind tourists with their four legged friends, Girlfriend Getaways, The trend of Destination Weddings and the list goes on.
But we must not forget the Business Travellers, visiting a country with a different set of values. How do I get my point across in a country where spheres of home, family, work and recreation are kept separate and clearly defined? Understanding the local culture and values is essential for success.
Since the business person often lacks the time necessary to orient him/her self with basic knowledge of the local customs, getting their point across might be difficult. It is especially so for Europe and the Middle East.
Now, let's look at theMeeting Planning part of the business travel. Most foreign travel involves meetings with the host, who takes care of the incoming guest. What if you had to organize a meeting?
A small meeting might be 6 or 10 people, a medium size might involve up to a hundred, before we can look at the larger sizes. To be a successful host, there are many, many behind the scenes aspects one needs to consider.
Then we have the new emerging markets of Baby Boomers, Teen Adventure tours, Destination Weddings, Spa Getaways where customized solutions are the key facets of a successful investment of thousands of dollars. Internet can not do what you do not know how to do.
Responsible travel is simply good business. Is tough time a good time to add to the 'to-do' list - a corporate social responsibility? The Travel & Tourism sector is diverse, fragmented, local and global in nature. It now has to deal with climate change, cost of energy, waste management, security and safety of the tourists, taxes which often are higher than the cost of transportation and the crowded marketplace of the internet. While many of us are happy Armchair traveller, some of us like to experiment. Let that not be an experiment to suffer from.
Please acknowledge receipt of my submission!

Up Close and Personal
Let me invite you to a Day Dream out on a journey.
Our second day!
Take an 'up close and personal' view of different places, cultures and scenery that follow the history and the people who live there today as the passerby might happen by chance.
Look at the world of commercial travel and how the differing forces affect their choices, more and more limited and out of reach.
We will explore the extraordinary places hard to come by and also places very close which we could overlook in our every day life.
We might even glimpse at the spiritual aspect of travel and how it is gaining momentum, not only as a group to Holy Land and similar sites but also Missionary travel to and from Canada.
And the foreign students who come here to learn English as this language gains momentum and status as the common means of communication worldwide, especially in commerce.
Today, let us get a head start in Cuba, where more of the American tourists are about to embark as the U.S. relaxes their laws of travel.
Now here is something for the hardy ones who love an active holiday. a different Cuba. Expedition on a bicycle for those in love with the out of doors starting in Havana and on to Soroa, Vinales Valley, Jutra cay and Pinar Del Rio area of Cuba.
While there, consider dancing to authentic Latin Caribbean music. Complete with a personal teacher, learn to Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Tango and Raggeton stepping to the Latin heart beat.
Now still in Cuba, another 'Fiesta' way is open for the Singles at heart, 'take off your mask and let me see your face' or 'Spanish lessons on the beach!' Could be enticing, eh?
Are you rather inclined to explore the 'little-known' Havana? The capital of Cuba is exciting - complete with a lively nightlife highlighted by musical expressions of Salsa. Home of some of the best Spanish colonial architecture, a fascinating city of nimble artists who can do a quick mini-portrait while you take a break. Consider a rail car built by Tiffany's in Old Havana, but goes nowhere since there are no tracks.................
Moving on to Jamaica; The 18th century Witch's Mansion, spiritually attractive white witch of Rose Hall of fame. Home to some 2000+ slaves and Annie Hall, it is no longer but the spirit hovers upon the hillside mansion which is now a prime attraction for the tourist who might venture in nearby gift shop, formerly the dungeon.
Another mansion features a tunnel where her three former husbands were carried off with other dead slaves who were subjected to mistreatments for viewing pleasures.
Jamaica, a land of warm and friendly souls, is a tropical paradise of colour. but also a land of history linked with our north American past. While there, don't miss Dunn's River Falls, Ocho Rios, a popular cruise port and the many beaches unknown to the vacationers. More on this popular Canadian destination later as requested.
The future of Flying is still very much in the mind of the airliners of the world, in particular, the long distance lines, like Air New Zealand who sourced and refined a biofuel blend of 50-50 Jatropha and Jet A1, a fuel to power one of the 747-400's Rolls-Royce RB211 engines. They claim that the world's first commercial aviation test flight powered by sustainable biofuel has been successfully completed in Auckland.
Continental Airlines will be the first to use algae as fuel on test flight which is blended with Jatropha. Japan will follow suite with cameliana oilseed on a flight from Tokyo.
The criteria for making Jatropha requires oil sourced from land neither forest nor virgin grassland within the past two decades. In addition, the soil and climate of the farms is such that it is unsuitable for food crops and neither mechanically irrigated nor rain-fed. This suits the Metchosenites, eh?
Next, shall we embark on the final Crusade of the blockbuster movie 'Indiana Jones'? Shall we then arrive at the ancient city of Petra, a cemetery thousands of years old, a site that prompted maker of this film to use it as the last refuge of the knight guarding the Holy Grail?
Discovered by a Swiss explorer in the mid 19th century we might land here and pay a visit to this, perhaps the new Seven Wonders of the World by candle light. A haunting Bedouin musical performance would be followed by a flutist who comes out of the Treasury and an expert shares the history of the Bedouin lifestyle with you being at the front and centre row.
Current Scene; The word 'Service', what does it really mean?
In the retail sector Service it is practically non existent. Consider, in one hand, the supermarket ideology where the buyer does all the researching, locating, price comparisons and then lining up to finally purchase which is to be paid forthwith. This service is often provided by the lowest paid, hourly and seven days a week rotating shift work person as the norm. They try to be helpful, but might lack adequate training or energy to really help you with expert advice sometimes asked for.
On the other, consider simply stating what you want to the Seller who does all the leg work and match up the Buyers stated need with a product or service. Today, that kind of service is expensive and is not necessarily found in the internet.
I would like to know what the reader thinks of my observation. You may reach me at nptash@shaw.ca.
